Increasing penis size

Hyaluronic acid injections can be used to increase the flaccid and erect girth of the human penis. They have become very popular in the last ten years in the United Kingdom.

They are an alternative to the ligamentolysis and fat transfer surgery, which also remains a popular option.

The difference between the two is that whilst the surgery option is permanent, the penis fillers are temporary because hyaluronic acid breaks down in the body naturally. Top-up treatments are needed to maintain the results.

The Procedure

Penis fillers are performed under local anaesthetic in the outpatient clinic, by a fully qualified Urologist.

Firstly, an injection is given at the base of the penis to numb it. Through this same entry point, the filler is then injected. In the first treatment most, patients choose to have between 10mls and 20mls. The amount injected will depend on how thick you would like the penis to be, and the length of your penis. If you have a long penis, it will take more filler.

The treatment will take between one and two hours depending on the volume injected.

After the treatment, your penis will be instantly thicker. You may notice that the penis looks a little longer. This is because of the weight of the filler. Penis fillers are girth-enhancing treatments.

The Recovery

You can go back to work immediately after penis fillers. It can take some time for the filler to settle down into the tissues. The Doctor will show you how to do some light massage of the penis to keep the filler evenly distributed along the penis shaft. It is helpful to avoid all sexual activity for two weeks, to avoid any movement of the filler and an increased risk of lump formations.

The Benefits of Penis Filler

Penis fillers are a non-surgical way to increase the thickness of the penis. Many men choose penis fillers to give their confidence a boost. If the penis is smaller than average, it can lead to insecurities and difficulty in forming or maintaining relationships. For other men it’s simply a lifestyle choice because they just want to have a bigger penis.

Risks and Complications

Hyaluronic acid injections are considered safe when performed by a medical professional. Penis filers are administered in greater quantities in the penis than in the face for example, so it is important to ensure that the treatment is performed by a medical professional with knowledge and training in genital procedures, such as a Urologist.

Most patients have penis fillers with no complications, but as with all medical procedures there are risks.

Lump and bump formations

Most patients do not get lumps and bumps, but they can occur after penis fillers. Sometimes the hyaluronic acid can collect to form tiny lumps. Usually post treatment massage helps to smooth them out. Where lumps still remain, an enzyme called hyalase can be injected to dissolve them.

Infection after penis fillers is seldom but can occur as with any needle treatments.

Bruising and swelling

You may notice that the penis is bruised and swollen after treatment. Procedures are now performed with cannulas rather than needles, which reduce the trauma to the penile tissues. However, it I still possible to experience some bruising and swelling.

Fast absorption

Penis fillers are temporary and require top up treatments. These will depend on the type of filler chosen, but most patients return for top up treatments between 12 and 24 months. There is a rare complication where the body absorbs the filler at a much faster rate than the average. We cannot tell in advance if this will happen in your case. If it does happen, trying an alternative filler is often recommended. If the body continues to absorb the filler at a fast rate, then you may wish to consider penis enlargement surgery.

Pain and discomfort

Penis fillers are not considered a painful post treatment recovery. However, the entry point at the base of the penis, and/or the penis itself, may feel sore at first.

    Can penis fillers affect erections?

Penis fillers are not injected into the chambers that fill with blood when you get an erection. They should not have any impact on the strength of your erections.

How much penis filler can I have?

In the first treatment we suggest between 10 and 20ml. The amount chosen will depend on your penis length, how thick you would like your penis to be, and your budget for the treatment.

    Who performs penis fillers?

Penis fillers are performed by GMC Specialist registered Urologists. These are Doctors with specialist training in genital procedures.

What is the alternative to penis fillers?

Penis enlargement surgery. This is an operation to lengthen the penis and make it thicker with a fat transfer. It is chosen by patients who want to make their flaccid penis longer, and the flaccid and erect girth thicker, with permanent results.

How often do I need top ups with penis fillers?

Most patients return between 12 and 24 months, with the most common interval being 18 months. Of course, you can choose to have more penis filler whenever you wish. They are temporary and it should be remembered that the size will decrease slowly over time.

What is used in penis fillers?

We use hyaluronic acid injections to make your penis thicker. We do not use semi-permanent treatments due to potential difficulties in treating post treatment lumps and bumps. If they occur with hyaluronic acid injections, they can be dissolved.

What is the maximum number of penis fillers I can have?

You should not have more than 20ml in a single treatment. This is because you will need to do some post treatment massage after the treatment. With very large quantities such as 30ml and more, it can be more difficult to do, with a higher risk of lump and bump formations. The most common amount chosen by our patients in the first treatment is 15ml.

When can I have sex after penis fillers?

Advice on this does vary from Doctor to Doctor. We advise waiting for two weeks until the filler has settled into the penis shaft.

Can filler be injected into the penis head?

It is possible to inject penis filler into the head. However, this is considered to be riskier than injecting it into the shaft. This is because the head of the penis contains a rich blood supply and has many nerve endings. There is a very low risk that they could be compromised by the injection of hyaluronic acid. Injecting hyaluronic acid can increase the penis head modestly. It is also used to treat premature ejaculation in the penis head.

Can I have a penis enlargement surgery after penis fillers?

Yes this is possible. A number of patients eventually choose to have either a length and girth surgery, or just a girth surgery, following penis fillers.

Can I top up a fat transfer to the penis with penis fillers?

Yes, this is also possible. If you would like your penis even thicker, but you don’t want another fat transfer we can increase the penis thickness further by the injection of hyaluronic acid.
