Vaser liposuction

Many women choose liposuction when other methods of removing fat, such as diet and exercise have failed.

Efforts to lose weight can still result in pockets of unwanted fat that seem resistant to diet and exercise.

Other factors such as fat gains after childbirth also play a part in many women choosing liposuction to regain their figure and self-confidence.

Liposuction surgery

Most liposuction is performed under general anaesthetic. It can be performed under local anaesthetic, especially for smaller areas.

The surgery time will depend on the areas to be treated, but most procedures take between one and two hours.

Minor incisions are made in the area to be treated. A very thin needle called a cannula is used to aspirate the excess fat. During this process the fat cells together with the excess fat are successfully removed.

In most cases you will be able to go home on the same day as the surgery.

Liposuction aftercare

You should arrange some time off work after the procedure. In most cases around one week should be sufficient. If you have had multiple areas treated, you may want to take two weeks of work.

Expect some bruising and swelling after the procedure, this is normal.

This bruising and swelling will settle in the coming weeks.

You will have special compression garments to wear after the procedure. These compression garments serve to reduce the swelling, but they also help to achieve excellent results afterwards.

You may not see the final result for several weeks as it takes time for the selling to settle.

Avoid gym and strenuous exercise for at least four week and resume sexual activity when you feel comfortable to do so.
